The idea:

We think visual communication research is so cool. And it's important to our own design work. But academic papers are Zzz, intimidating, and frankly sometimes hard to read. So we're attempting to translate our favorites into something a bit more approachable.

Every week(-ish) we'll pull one of our favorite studies from the pile, unpack the findings, and relate them back to data design. We might attempt to turn some of the results into a hopefully not-too-reductive postcard.

Along the way, we'll sensationalize, editorialize, and overstate everything in an academically questionable way. But hopefully it's exciting? We'll invite the research community to call us on our bullshit and we'll share any corrections/discussions that pop up as we go!
